From Kingsville, Texas to San Diego, California

We arrived in Kingsville last Saturday and was able to get set up and go out to dinner. We needed to get ready so we could head out to Edinburg, Texas on Sunday. Hubby's brother, Fred, and his family have a lot of birthdays in October, so we were able to be a part of the fun! It was so good to see everyone, it had been two years since we saw them. Thanksgiving of 2021. Our site for the week. Susan, Fred, Freddie, Dulce, Mila Sue, Aiden, Sebastian, Jennifer and Armondo. Birthday time! Fred, Susan, myself and hubby. Jennifer, Fred, Susan, myself, Aiden, Armando and hubby. Monday, I was able to get some laundry done and we headed out to the store after hubby was off from work. Tuesday, I was able to watch my father-in-law, Juan, to let the caregiver have some time off. Juan and I had a nice time, hubby came over after work and did a little tree trimming for his dad. Flour Bluff, Texas

We had a fun week in Flour Bluff, Texas. It is a small town just after Corpus Christi and before North Padre Island. We stayed at the Corpus Christi KOA, and this is actually our fourth time to stay here. I think if we stay again, we now know the exact site we want to stay in. On the last blog, I told you I would update you about the 49er game and our visit with hubby's dad, Juan. So, the 49ers lost by two points and that was upsetting. Although with the Eagles losing, I felt better. No more undefeated teams. The visit with Juan was nice. It was good to see him. We will be seeing more of him over the next two weeks. I will take pictures during our visits. Clouds on our drive to the KOA. Our site for the week. Hubby didn't put the flags out, it is windy here. Hubby's beautiful picture of the sunrise. Sunset. This day we had calm water, I tried to take a video of the fish  jumping out of the water, but I didn't capture any. In the spring of 1838, France blockaded  the  co

Having Fun in Leander, Texas

Well, we made it to Leander, Texas last Sunday. It was a crazy drive through the Waco area. Never dreamed there would be so many people on the road in Waco. A trip that should have taken a little over four hours turned into five hours and fifteen minutes. The Lord reminded me that I need to be patient. "You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near." James 5:8 (NASB) . Our site for the week. Prior to being named Leander, the town was located one mile west and was officially named Bagdad in 1855. The town was named after an early settler's hometown, Bagdad, Tennessee. In 1881 the Austin and Northwest Railroad began construction of a new rail line that would connect Austin to Abilene. The line appeared as though it would pass right through the town of Bagdad, but the town was bypassed when the rail line was built one mile to the east. Many of the businesses and residents of Bagdad moved to be near the new train station and purchased lots fro
