Last Week (for a while) in West Texas

Well, today we are heading to Magnolia and tomorrow will celebrate my little sister's 50th birthday. So, Stef is turning 50 which means next week I will turn 60. Where does the time go? Last week was mellow, warmer weather, wind (always), no rain. Unfortunately, the duck left. Miss that guy. Sad that he has left the pond. We went into town a couple of days last week and basically ran errands. We got pizza for dinner on Monday, "keeping it real" I was off on my menu, we were supposed to have it on Saturday. I like to menu plan for a week or two. We sort of stuck with it. God Father's Pizza. The rest of the week, (except for Friday) I was able to fix dinner from what I had frozen and on Tuesday, hubby smoked a tri-tip. It was so yummy. Found out the hard way that blanching and shocking asparagus isn't as great as when you fix it fresh. Also on Tuesday, I cleared the path to one of the deer feeders. Hubby had started it with mowing, but I was able to cut down cedars,

Wind, Weather and Wildlife

Well, I am still feeling a little blue after the 49ers lost the Super Bowl. I can't believe they lost. I think if we could have made something happen in the third quarter we could have stayed on top. At least it was a fun game to watch, and it wasn't a blowout. "Keeping it real" I would have loved to see the 49ers blow away the Chiefs. Sunday night matched my feelings as strong winds, rain, thunder, and hail happened. It was crazy. Hubby got some videos from our door cameras.
