Living it up in Filer, Idaho

Image
Arriving on a Saturday, gave us time to explore last Sunday. After we watched church, we headed out to explore the school where my mom taught and see the hospital where my little sister was born. It was fun to step back in time to 1973 and 1974. I don't remember a lot from back then, but I do remember Twin Falls is where I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at a church where I attended Vacation Bible School.  Bickel Elementary School. Mom taught on the second floor. Didn't quite look like this in 1974, it is now a "state of the art" hospital. We drove and found a place to eat for lunch, Redhawk Gastropub. It was so amazing because you could see the Snake River and the canyon. The Snake River starts in western Wyoming, then flows through the Snake River Plain of southern Idaho, the rugged Hells Canyon on the Oregon-Idaho border and the rolling Palouse Hills of Washington, emptying into the Columbia River at the Tri-Cities in the Columbia Basin of Eastern Washi

Fun times in Boise, Idaho

After hubby came back home from "The Guys Trip", we did some site seeing around Boise. I found Kathryn Albertson Park, Boise's Premiere Habitat Park. It is not far from downtown and is open to the public year-round. Hubby and I had a nice time walking around, although it was a little hot, there was shade and a little breeze. The first rock on the left has Kathryn's name and then the  rocks that follow spell out Albertson one rock at a time. This park was dedicated in 1989 and has flowered into bloom as a  habitat for the man animals, insects species,  migratory birds, trees,  flowers and shallow lagoons. This is one of the two areas you can reserve  and have parties, wedding and other fun events. I like the water bubbling over the rock fountains. Hubby and I. Inside The Eyrie. Another view of The Eyrie. Overlooking the water. Pretty flowers. The Rookery is the other area you can reserve. Inside view. These were some pretty large cattails. Joe and Kathryn Albertson m
