Birthdays All Around

Last week we left Fredericksburg to head to Magnolia. I wasn't able to post pictures of our sites, so I thought I would show them to you this week. Our one night stop at Arch Ray RV Park. Albert's cousins joined us for dinner. It was so much fun! No, I didn't get a picture and I am so bummed. Mari (cousin), Mario (her husband), Hector (cousin), Patti (wife) and Homero (cousin) are awesome! I love them! Mari brought me a birthday present (she is the best!) and one of the gifts just so happened to be this towel with an angel painted on it. She is a cute angel for sure! So excited to finally have all the lanterns and flags out, we will be here until March 30th. Monday, we picked up my mom and Dave from the airport and took them to their hotel in Tomball, we went back to the RV so hubby could finish up work. Then we picked them up and headed to Houston for dinner at Taste of Texas. It is a really nice steak house. We celebrated Stef turning 50 years old. How my little sister go...

Last Week (for a while) in West Texas

Well, today we are heading to Magnolia and tomorrow will celebrate my little sister's 50th birthday. So, Stef is turning 50 which means next week I will turn 60. Where does the time go? Last week was mellow, warmer weather, wind (always), no rain. Unfortunately, the duck left. Miss that guy. Sad that he has left the pond. The rest of the week, (except for Friday) I was able to fix dinner from what I had frozen and on Tuesday, hubby smoked a tri-tip. It was so yummy. Found out the hard way that blanching and shocking asparagus isn't as great as when you fix it fresh. Also on Tuesday, I cleared the path to one of the deer feeders. Hubby had started it with mowing, but I was able to cut down cedars,...

Wind, Weather and Wildlife

Well, I am still feeling a little blue after the 49ers lost the Super Bowl. I can't believe they lost. I think if we could have made something happen in the third quarter we could have stayed on top. At least it was a fun game to watch, and it wasn't a blowout. "Keeping it real" I would have loved to see the 49ers blow away the Chiefs. Sunday night matched my feelings as strong winds, rain, thunder, and hail happened. It was crazy. Hubby got some videos from our door cameras. "and yet He did not leave Himself without a witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness." Acts 14:17 (NASB) . Hail and lightening. More of the craziness. Bonus video! Hubby has also been keeping up with the game camera and more skunks pigs at the alfalfa feeder. Still think they are gross, just saying. Last Sunday, before the Super Bowl, I started my veggie prep with my new food saver. It was a very busy...
