Birthdays All Around
Last week we left Fredericksburg to head to Magnolia. I wasn't able to post pictures of our sites, so I thought I would show them to you this week.
Our one night stop at Arch Ray RV Park.
Albert's cousins joined us for dinner. It was so much fun! No, I didn't get a picture and I am so bummed. Mari (cousin), Mario (her husband), Hector (cousin), Patti (wife) and Homero (cousin) are awesome! I love them! Mari brought me a birthday present (she is the best!) and one of the gifts just so happened to be this towel with an angel painted on it.
She is a cute angel for sure!
So excited to finally have all the lanterns and flags out, we will be here until March 30th.
Monday, we picked up my mom and Dave from the airport and took them to their hotel in Tomball, we went back to the RV so hubby could finish up work. Then we picked them up and headed to Houston for dinner at Taste of Texas. It is a really nice steak house. We celebrated Stef turning 50 years old. How my little sister got to that age, I am not sure. But she wears it well!!!
Happy birthday, Stef!!! Mom and Stef at Taste of Texas.
Mom and Stef shared a Tomahawk Steak and of course we had to play with our food.
Love this picture!
Tim, Dave, Scott, Baine, Stef, mom, myself and hubby.
It was a great night, lots of food and fun!
Tuesday and Wednesday, hubby worked, and I picked up mom so we could do some shopping. I would then drop her back at the hotel, come back to the RV and make us dinner. Hubby and I would go back to the hotel, and we would have dinner in the lobby/breakfast area. It was so much fun. After dinner we played cards.
We played this game Tuesday and Wednesday night.
We played Negative 5 on Wednesday as well.
Thursday was a fantastic day! I got to meet up with Fonda and have lunch and she gave me a parking pass to the Blue Lot because we went to the Rodeo - baby! "Keeping it real" I love the rodeo; it doesn't matter to me about the band. I just want to watch the cowboys and cowgirls ride, rope, and all that good stuff. This time, I also enjoyed the band. We went to see For King and Country. I love that band and they are wonderful singers, storytellers and they share their love of the Lord.
Of course we had to stand in front of the big boot!!! Stef,
Baine, myself, mom, Dave and hubby.
Was a truly wonderful evening!
Friday, we celebrated my birthday. My actual birthday is today, and I am 60, how I got that old is beyond me - not sure what happened. Guess what type of restaurant I chose? Well, if you know me, you know I chose Mexican food! Yes, Lupe Tortillas. We had a lot of fun and my mom went all out to make me feel special. It was truly a blessing having them join us for the past week.
The gang is all here. Mom, Tim, hubby, myself, Dave, Stef and Baine.
Mom got me a sash and tiara just like she did to celebrate Stef.
"You don't get older, you get better." Shirley Bassey.
That sucker was poking into my head and when
that hat was place on my head OUCH!
Dave, Stef and Baine.
One of my b-gifts from Stef. My Easter Gnome!! She also gave me some soap
that she made and a gift card. What a sweetie!
Tim, me and hubby.
Here is the front of Lupe's and do you see that jalapeƱo pepper? Well...
Fun fact: Scott made that for Lupe's years ago. He is very talented.
Here we are. Mom, Dave, Baine, Stef, myself, Tim and hubby.
Lupe Tortilla first opened its doors in 1983 in a 1940 frame house on the outskirts of Houston. Hubby and I would go when he worked in that area. When they sold out of enchiladas they were out, and you would have to order something else. It now has over 20 locations across Texas. I love their fajitas. Tim, hubby and I shared them. Yum!
First Lupe Tortillas.
Saturday, we took Mom and Dave to the airport. It was sad to see them go, but we will see them towards the end of June. That will be good. Unfortunately, they had to travel to Fresno for a funeral. Dave's brother-in-law passed away. My prayers are with Dave's sister, Maggie, and family. Death is hard, but we have a Savior who loves us and when we pass from this world (if we have accepted Jesus as our Savior) we will be in His loving arms. "For the payoff of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 (NET).
Today is my birthday and we are going to brunch. I can't promise you I will have a picture for the next blog as I am not doing a great job in remembering to take a photo. Hopefully hubby will help me remember and it is better to take one when everyone first sits down before we order food. So, fingers crossed.
If there is something special you would like me to take a picture of, please let me know!
