More about Denver

Image
Well, the second week of Denver was basically the same as the first week of Denver. It can be summed up in one word SNOW! Let's see, hubby and I were in Denver for 13 days and it snowed for 10 of them. I had so many dreams of exploring and hiking all over the Denver area and well, I guess next time we come here it will have to be in June. Funny, from December 30th until leaving Denver, we have spent more time in the snow than our entire marriage of almost 34 years. I have also worn my snow boots, which I purchased in New York 13 years ago, more than all those 13 years combined. Now, April 18th it was one of those days without snow, that was fantastic because we went to church. We went to Southeast Christian Church and saw Chris and Chrissy Bullard. Chris and I worked together at TheMET church in Houston for a little over 4 years. He was the Small Groups Pastor, and I was the Women's Small Group Director. We worked hard and hopefully our Small Group Leaders and Members felt the

Welcome to Denver/Central City KOA

We are so enjoying seeing the mountains and the snow on top of the mountains. So different than Houston where I called the Houston mountains "overpasses". Here is the first mountain range we saw after we left Alamosa, CO. These mountains are just amazing to watch, I took a lot of pictures so hubby could see them when he was finished driving. He focused on the roads, making sure Big Red 2.0 (our truck) would pull the 5th wheel. Which it did with ease, in my opinion. I knew that the Rockies where in CO but didn't realize we would be driving over them. Here is a sign that I had to take a picture of to prove that we did go over the Rockies pulling the rig. The sign reads, "Top of the Rockies". I just thought that was so cool. While navigating, I saw a flashing sign that read, "vehicles above 13'11" use alternate route", we think we are below 13'11", but didn't want to be "that guy" stuck in a tunnel, so we took the alternat

Welcome to OK

Well, my last blog had us on our way to OK. We made it! Very interesting drive with mountains and views leaving TX. The scenery was so different than Houston for sure. The truck pulled the trailer nicely, which is great since we are heading to CO after OK. The roads in OK left a lot to the imagination for sure, thought everything inside the RV would be broken or at least cupboards opening and spilling out, but all went well. Welcome to OK! Once we were settled in the weather was nice, but hot. After that we had 3 days of wind, some gusts up to 31 miles per hour, that was crazy. It was like being in a houseboat on rough waters. By Wednesday night the wind settled down, just as I imagined it did when the Disciples cried out and asked Jesus to stop the storm. "A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat," He (Jesus) got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, Quiet! Be still! Then the wind died done and it was completely calm." Mark 4:37, 39 (NIV).   I

On the Move

First of all, Happy Easter! May you know how loved you are by God's one and only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Secondly, what a week! We had some RV issues and wanted to get new tires put on the RV, but we will have to do that in OK. Thirdly, Hubby and I went to Cockrell Vineyard on Friday. It was so awesome and so much fun. Nice people there.  Here we are getting settled in.  We had a wonderful sunset and we thought we weren't going to be able to see one because of all the cloud cover. God is good! Met a wonderful couple who are believers, and we were able to encourage one another, talk about the Lord and an amazing book I just finished reading for Book Club." Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."  1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV   The book is called “The Masterpiece” by Francine Rivers. I highly recommend and this is coming from a person who has to be pulled into the story in the book before she can finish it. The ladies in Book
