Thanksgiving!!

Image
We hope that you and your loved ones had a very Happy Thanksgiving!! We rented a cabin and Tim spent two nights; Tressa and Andrew spent one night. It was amazing to have a large enough oven to cook a turkey and not to brag, but I thought it was one of the best turkeys I have ever baked. Sorry, no pictures of it. Stef, Scott and Baine joined us for Thanksgiving as well. Sorry, no pictures of them either. Tim brought some games and we played, that was fun. I do believe everyone had a great time and it was so nice to be with family. I had to get some flowers, they were calling my name.  So pretty and looks like fall. The cabin. It had a full kitchen, two bedrooms,  living/dinning room and a bathroom. Hubby and Tim Tressa and I Tim and I "Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.  Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth." Montgomery, Texas

We landed in Montgomery, Texas November 12th and it has been wonderful to be back in our old stomping grounds. We will stay at our site until December 3rd and then head to Katy/Brookshire area until January 7th. It has been great seeing 2 out of our 3 children. We will see our first born and grandchildren in April. Can't wait until then! Our site for the month. This place is lovely and I wouldn't mind coming back. Walking from some cabins over the bridge to our site. We also have ducks. I was so honored to be asked to be a speaker at TheMet Women's Bible study last Wednesday. Thank you to all who prayed for me. I was nervous, but the Lord took the wheel and I hope what I said made sense. I quoted a statement from Francis Chan that really moved me. He challenges us to be honest with ourselves on how much time we spend praising the Lord, adding that asking for things doesn’t count, and just reading a Scripture doesn’t count. How much time do we spend staring at Him and tellin

This last week was more of a quiet week for us. That is good, because I was asked to speak at the Women's Bible Study for The Met on November 16th. "Keeping it real", that made me very nervous. In this new journey of my life, sometimes I don't talk  anyone but hubby all day. So, the thought of speaking to around 40 women, that makes me nervous. I have been praying through my talk, my nerves and have also asked other women to lift me up in prayer. Also, like that Toby Mac song says, "If you want to steal my show," I invite the Holy Spirit to do that as well. I have some pretty sky pictures that were taken during the week. As I have told you before, I so enjoy God's beauty and creativity. We had a few windy days, but nice temperatures. Love seeing rainbows. Thank You, Lord, for keeping Your promises. The moon was very bright and this picture doesn't do it justice. The sun set. Love the pinks and blues. “Moonlight drowns out all but the brightest stars

Back in the Great State of Texas

We made it to Texas October 29, 2022. It feels so good to be back. Hubby took some time off and we stayed at my dad and Connie's place in a small town by the name of Iraan. This small town came into existence after the discovery of oil on the nearby Ira G. Yates ranch in 1926. Iraan was named for Ira and Ann Yates in a contest that offered a town lot as a prize. From the property it takes about 10 minutes to drive to town. You have to be sure you have enough supplies for the weekend, because about noon on Saturday the town shuts down and doesn't reopen until Monday. Not the grocery store or the gas station, just other businesses.  The property. Our site for a couple of days. Mowing also happened. Look at those clouds. On our drive to look over the property. "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8 (NASB).   I made sure we didn't have to go to town to go grocery shopping, we did that in Carlsbad. We did make a trip
