Buffalograss Who Knew?

Image
What a week it has been, hot is the word for it. Actually, the tee-ball game last Thursday was moved from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and I was so glad about that. It cooled down to 96 degrees and that made it so much better. The weather also gives us beautiful skies.  These dark and mysterious clouds did not produce rain for us. I just love the way they look. Another picture of the moon. Monday was laundry day and that felt good to knock it out in one day. Funny, my washer/dryer takes 2 and a half hours for one little load, going into the house, I can knock laundry in a lot less time than that. Don't get me wrong, I love my washer/dryer. It was over three years ago we got this, so love being able to  wash in the RV verses a laundry mat. "Keeping it real" Tuesday was a gut-wrenching day, I woke up to find out one of my best friend's daughter has passed away. She found out she had cancer in 2020 and battled through that and even got to ring the bell, not only to find out later th

A Labor of Love

Working on the ranch is truly a blessing. I enjoy mowing and now that we have a new weed sprayer, I enjoy riding around on the Polaris spraying the paths to the feeders and deer stands. This was just water, needed to do that first to make sure all the sprayers worked. Tuesday, we went to Kirsten's house so hubby could see her deck and new chicken coop. She lives at a higher elevation than we do. I was able to take this picture of the sunsetting. So beautiful. Isn't God so creative! We have Mesquite trees around here, fun fact: they are not native to this area. They are a nuisance, and they have thorns. What they have that is good is pods and the deer like to eat them. I am trying to get the grass to grow more, I have a few mesquites that will be take out. I don't like the "messy" look, so trying to get this area looking better, of course with hubby's help. Can you see the pods? So, we have blink cameras and a game camera out and about the house, RV and by the

Lots of Fun in Iraan

Again, I wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there! Hope yesterday was a very blessed day for you. Also, I have some PBR bonus pictures that I wanted to share with you. I thought about adding them last week, but that drive back to the ranch was long and hubby and I were tired. Hope you enjoy! PBR always starts out with a flash. Natalie and myself. Ben, Natalie, myself and hubby. Bulls can be mean. We stopped by to see hubby's dad before we left to back to the ranch. Last week was fun, sad, and exhausting. Monday, I was able to mow for two and a half hours and that felt good, but the sun, wow, it got me. That is the exhausting part of last week. I was on our zero turn, so I just sat, but the heat can get to you for sure. I did get some pink color on my legs, hoping that will turn dark. Strange tan lines for me these days. I also went to check the Ewoks (Hedgehog Cactus) and that was sad for me. Here she is, our zero turn. Served us well in Hockley and continues to

A Work in Progress

I will send out my blog tomorrow - have a most excellent Mother's Day!!!

A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That

Iraan is a really nice place unless it is hailing. And we have had a bit of that this week. It sounds so loud in the rig, also the house has a metal cover, and that sound is loud as well. Fortunately, we didn't have golf size hail that the towns west of Iraan did.  After the hailstorm I needed to see how the cacti was doing. When we left to go and see them, we also saw a long black snake. I still need to look that up, west Texas snakes. I just hope it stays away from the RV. So amazing. So pretty and survived. Not sure this one is going to bloom more than this. I found this picture online, I was in too much shock to take a picture. Not sure what it is,  but glad it wasn't a rattlesnake. I know they live out here. Monday was a nice day; we went to town to pick up mail and pizza. When we drove down our road, we just so happened to see this hawk, hubby and I weren't really sure we had seen them out here before.  He thinks he owns this place. Spring weather has been interesting
