A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That

Iraan is a really nice place unless it is hailing. And we have had a bit of that this week. It sounds so loud in the rig, also the house has a metal cover, and that sound is loud as well. Fortunately, we didn't have golf size hail that the towns west of Iraan did.  After the hailstorm I needed to see how the cacti was doing. When we left to go and see them, we also saw a long black snake. I still need to look that up, west Texas snakes. I just hope it stays away from the RV.

So amazing.

So pretty and survived.

Not sure this one is going to bloom more than this.

I found this picture online, I was in too much shock to take a picture. Not sure what it is,
but glad it wasn't a rattlesnake. I know they live out here.

Monday was a nice day; we went to town to pick up mail and pizza. When we drove down our road, we just so happened to see this hawk, hubby and I weren't really sure we had seen them out here before.

He thinks he owns this place.

Spring weather has been interesting. There hasn't been forecast for rain and yet it builds up every night. Praise God we haven't had any tornados. Thursday was a nice day, and we went to watch tee-ball. Our neighbor has two adorable girls and they started playing this year. They were shy at first, but then once they were able to bat, they got into the game. "Keeping it real" I have never been to a tee-ball game. It was so cute to see three-year-olds play. Some of the other children were older. I believe they could be up to six years old. We sat where we could see first base and those children were all so cute.

Tess on second base.

We saw rain in the distance and plus we had rain, but one of the amazing things God does is send His rainbow in the sky and hubby saw it, so I was able to get some pictures. Seeing the rainbow in person is much better than my pictures. Actually, it was a double rainbow, I can't remember the last time I posted rainbows it actually might have been in 2022.

In the distance we can see the rain. I even love these clouds.

Can you see the double rainbow?

Here is the other side. Think there is a pot of gold out there?

So, after the rain and the hail, I needed to make sure the Ewoks were ok. Hubby and I drove over to where they were and I can't believe how cute they are.

Hubby's phone said that they were Hedgehog Cactus.

We left Friday to come to Corpus Christi, Texas. I saw that the PRB was going to be here during "Bucs" days. We used to watch bull riding all the time. We once even went to Las Vegas to watch the World Finals. It was so much fun, and the bull riders were so nice. We were able to get signed autographs, meet them at Cavender's (a place to buy boots and western wear), and we even saw some in the hotel where we were staying.

Friday night was so much fun. We were able to get together with some family. Corpus was alive as people were celebrating with the Art Walk and PBR.

A little history about PBR. The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is an international professional bull riding organization headquartered in Pueblo, Colorado. It is the largest bull riding league in the world, sanctioning hundreds of events every year in the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Australia. Over 800 bull riders from said countries, as well as others hold PBR memberships.

It is not for the faint of heart.

They say it is the toughest sport on dirt.

Guilherme Marchi won the World Champion in 2012.

The organization was founded on April 12, 1992, through the efforts of businessman Sam Applebaum and 19 professional bull riders; David Bailey Jr., Clint Branger, Mark Cain, Adam Carrillo, Gilbert Carrillo, Cody Custer, Jerome Davis, Bobby DelVecchio, David Fournier, Michael Gaffney, Tuff Hedeman, Cody Lambert, Scott Mendes, Dale Miles, Ty Murray, Ted Nuce, Aaron Seams, Jim Sharp and Brent Thurman; who all gathered in a hotel room in Scottsdale, Arizona. The bull riders all rode in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), the top rodeo organization in the world which had been around for many years, as well as Bull Riders Only (BRO), an all-bull riding organization that had been in existence for just one year. Each founder contributed $1,000 to forming the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. This group was seeking to break away from the rules set by the PRCA and BRO, and form their own bull riding competitions, which included them as well as other top bull riders. "We wanted to create a better product for the fans, so that when they tuned in they were seeing the best of the best every time," said PBR co-founder and nine-time world champion rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, who later served as the president.

So, Saturday we went with Natalie and Ben to dinner and then to the "Show" it was amazing, and I am so glad to be back in the bull riding arena. Fun fact: the score is half on the bull rider and half on the bull. Bulls are very good athletes and some of them can get a bad attitude if they don't throw their rider off. I watched a documentary on Bodacious and it was awesome.

Here he is an all muscle, bull with the distinctive yellow coloring. He bucked off 127
of his 135 riders and became known for a bone-crushing style that sent many
riders to the hospital, including world champions Tuff Hedeman and Terry
Don West. Bodacious was known for his explosive exit out of the chute.

Today we are going to see hubby's dad in Kingsville. Then we will head back to Iraan. We will stay put until June 28th and then we head to Midland to fly out on the 29th to Idaho. Our cruise with mom and Dave will start July 4th, I can't wait to show you those pictures.

In the next few blogs, I might not have much content. It is hard to write when we are just in one place. I will do my best to fill you in. Hope you don't get bored with cacti and clouds. There are a lot of those pictures I love to take.

May God bless you and yours in the month of May. May the April showers bring you much May flowers. We must also remember that "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9 (NASB_
