Quiet out West

Image
Well, the past week was full of wind, going into town and quietness. I told hubby that Wednesday I just wanted to stay on the property and that is what we did. Saturday, we made it to the big town of Midland so that we could run errands and grocery shop. I got my Food Saver and have already used it on the spaghetti I made on Monday. Also used my bread machine and made baguettes a couple of times. Here is my new bread cutting board. My bread machine makes two loaves.  Hubby checks the game camera every day and we have noticed that there are more and more javelina coming around. Caught on the Blink Camera. A momma and her babies. Although it is gross seeing all the javelina. Silly deer.  This is what Wednesday looked like outside before the sunset. I am telling you; I love it out here and the beautiful skies God creates. He is so awesome! So pretty! "Do you know how God establishes them, and makes the lightning of His cloud to shine?" Job 37:15 (NASB). Next Saturday I am hoping...

The Beauty of West Texas

February is the month for Valentine's and so I decorated my table with my Christmas presents from Tressa and Andrew. So excited for these new additions.                                                                                     Happy Valentine's Day!! Love my new Gnomes! West Texas is high and low country, where my dad and Connie have property is up high and then when you go to Midland it is in a basin. Fun fact: t he Midland Basin, the eastern sub-basin of the Permian Basin, is a major oil and natural gas producing region located in West Texas. Spanning an extensive area of approximately 20,000 square miles, the Midland Basin is bounded by the Central Basin Platform to the west. Its geological richness and significant hydrocarbon resources have made it a focal point of e...

The Past Two Weeks

Image
I'm back, so sorry about missing a post last week, this week I made sure to get one ready for you. This is officially my 181-blog post and I appreciate you joining in for the journey. We have been busy here in Iraan. We go into town almost every day just to dump trash, we also have driven to Fort Stockton, Ozona and Big Lake. Let me first put up some pictures from January 14th through the 20th. It was full of family, and it was frozen. Here is the family for our January Christmas. In the back are Stef, Robert, Connie and hubby.  In the front are my dad and Baine. Can you see Baine? Little icicles hanging off the cover. There is an icicle on the truck tire. Frozen winter wonderland. It was chilly out there, that is for sure, but we enjoyed being together and celebrating with each other. What a difference a week makes. It has thawed out and we are reaching nearly 70 degrees. As I am writing this it is currently 64 and should hit 67. Some days it seems as though I have to wear two dif...

I am so sorry!

This week was a busy and sort of a different week. I wasn't able to write the blog. I hope you can forgive me. More to come next week!

Family, Fun and Football

It is very interesting being out here in Iraan, we had to drive to take the trash to dump, and "keeping it real" for two people we basically have a bag of trash per day. That is crazy to me. Monday was very windy, we had a few days last week that were windy, one wind gust was over 41MPH. The Polaris needed some work done and up ahead was all dust.  Sorry for the bug mark on the windshield. This is what it looked like when we dropped off the Polaris. Wednesday, we went into Midland to go to Lowes and HEB. We left at 10:00am and arrived around 11:30am and then stopped at Lowes first after that headed to HEB. The one there has a BBQ restaurant in it. It was good! Robert, Connie and I really enjoyed the food and then on full stomachs we shopped. I still need a Foodsaver. Hopefully I will work on that this week. Yum! One thing that has been fun is to see what hubby captures on the game camera. It is interesting what runs around at night while we are sleeping. Deer. Do you see the ...
