Idaho - Part 3

Image
Idaho is certainly beautiful and certainly different from Hockley, Texas. It has been hot here, but if you go into the shade, it is nice, especially with a little breeze. At least I am not cold any longer, the snow, hail and freezing temps are gone. In Idaho part 1 we tackled 3 out of 7 Road Food restaurants and this past week, we tackled 3 more! Hubby and I had a brunch at Garnet's Cafe. Fun fact, garnet is the state gem of Idaho. After brunch we drove around to see Fernan Lake. Hubby was told it is a nice place to fish from the shore. Mainly there are trout in the lake, and we saw people fishing anywhere they could. It was a nice drive and we also stopped at the Lilly Pad Lake. Not sure what lurks beneath, but it was sort of scary; sure, wouldn't want the creature from the Black Lagoon to come out! Mom, Dave, Hilda, Steve, hubby and I went to Meltz another Road Food suggestion. If you want extreme grilled cheese this is the place for you! I enjoyed eating a Cubano grilled che

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful hubby, dad, father-in-law, and to the rest of the fathers reading this blog! Hope that you have a most excellent day and that your children will celebrate you! Love you, hubby! Here is one more picture of me on the book with my nephew, Baine. It was fun and a little chilly on the lake! So, the second week staying at Tamarack RV Park hasn't been filled with sight-seeing, but with family time! It was fun to be with my siblings and talk around the dinner table. Mom and Dave gave us a Christmas present at Cedars Restaurant and that was fun and delicious!  Steven, Stacy, and Stef Hilda, Stef and Stacy We taught mom and Dave two new cards games: Negative Five and Five Crowns. Both are fun and make me do math, so I guess my brain is happy to be thinking.    My sister-in-law, Hilda, nephew, Hunter, and brother, Steve, taught us how to play Pickleball. It is fun, but I am out of shape. Hubby and I will continue to play wherever we can find a court. It

Idaho - Part 1

Welcome to Idaho! It is another state of God's beautiful display of His handiwork. This week has been full of family, eating and playing cards.  Lake Coeur d'Alene is beautiful, it spans 25 miles in length and ranges from 1 to 3 miles wide with over 109 miles of shoreline. The max depth is 220 feet, there are even shipwrecked boats at the bottom that no one can salvage out of the lake. This is our first view of the lake. "let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:22 (NIV) Last Sunday night we ate at our first "Road Food" book suggestion with my mom, Nancy, and her husband, Dave. Wolf Lodge was fun, uniquely decorated and had amazing food. Hubby and I shared steak and lobster - yum - well, he had the steak and I had the lobster. That's how we roll.  Monday, we had dinner at my mom

Montana is an amazing place. Hubby and I have really enjoyed it here. When we arrived it was still cold, I felt like I haven't been warm in about 4 months. Now it is warm, and I am enjoying not have goose bumps or having to wear a jacket. The pictures are of the same mountain, the first one is the day we arrived and the second one is from Thursday. Notice the difference in the snow.  Tuesday, we went to the Gallatin History Museum. It's located in the original Bozeman jail house. It had a lot of interesting things to see and to read about. Lewis and Clark named the 3 rivers (Gallatin, Jefferson and Madison) that come together and join the Missouri River. Fun fact: The Missouri River is the longest river in North America. Rising in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana, the Missouri flows east and south for 2,341 miles before entering the Mississippi River north of St. Luis, Missouri. What I found very interesting about the museum is the hanging that happened in July 1924. Seth
