Palm Springs Area

Welcome to the low desert! We are having a great time in the Palm Springs area. It is so wonderful to catch up with friends and to have Ernie and Del camping alongside us. They arrived Thursday and will leave sometime this week. We are currently staying in Desert Hot Springs. I love looking at the desert mountains.

This week we are hoping to go to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. It is the world's largest rotating tram car that travels over two-and one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon. At this time, it is closed for repairs, but hopefully I will be able to bring you amazing pictures next week.

On our way to Lynn's house, I saw the most beautiful clouds with the sun streaming through them. When I looked at the picture I had taken, that is not what I saw. Hmmmmmm, looks like a dinosaur to me, your thoughts??

"Behold now, Behemoth, which I made as well as you; he eats grass like an ox. Behold now, his strength in his loins
and his power in the muscles of his belly. He bends his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together."
 Job 40:15-17 (NASB)

We also enjoyed the Palm Springs Air Museum. It is a living history museum that dedicates educating the public about the role Air Power played in preserving American liberties and the way of life. It has aircraft from World War II, Korea and the Vietnam wars. Fun fact: almost all the planes still fly, and you can book a flight on one of them if you like.

Tuskegee Airmen memorial. They were a group of primarily African American military pilots and airmen who fought in World War II. They formed the 332nd Expeditionary Operations Group and the 447th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces.

Ernie, Del, hubby and I also had a little fun at a casino on Friday. Let's just say, I put in $40 and walked away with $149. Not bad. First time I have ever won any money on the slots. We will go back today to watch the Dallas Cowboys play (Ernie's team) and then eat at Wahlburgers. Friday, I just had to have my picture taken with Mark and Donny, oh and their brother Paul!

Me, Mark, Paul and Donny

Friday night the sky was beautiful, and I needed to see what stars were by the moon. I have a Samsung phone and on it an app named, Sky Map, that shows me the stars and planets. Much to my surprise I found that they were not stars but planets! Yes! Jupiter and Saturn. Isn't that wild! They are so far away and yet God allowed me to see them. What an amazing God we serve!!

Sorry for the bad handwriting.

"If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore; and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God which had been shown! But every night come out these envoys of beauty, and light the universe with their admonishing smile." Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature and Selected Essays.

If there is something special you would like me to take a picture of, please let me know!
