Last week in Davenport, FL

What a quiet week we have had. The boys left last Saturday, and hubby and I have had some time to chill. Unfortunately, on Monday, a little bit of rain fell, and it brought with pollen. So, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I had runny eyes and a nose. I was in bed all day Thursday, because that helped nothing to leak down my face. I know, TMI, but hey, that's life in the fast lane.  So, when we did the trolley ride in Savannah, Georgia, the trolley driver made a comment about Spanish moss. I had to research it myself to see if what he was saying was true. I was amazed to learn that it isn't really moss, but a flowering plant related to pineapples. Fun fact: Spanish moss isn't a parasite, it is an air plant, using trees just for support and making its own food via photosynthesis. The name Spanish moss comes from the Spaniard Conquistadors, the native Americans thought their beards looked like it. Spanish moss hanging off the oak tree. Tara and family made a stop on

Happy Easter! He has risen indeed! "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?" She said to Him, "Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world."" John 11:25-26 (NASB). This past week was a fast and furious one, pun intended because there is a ride at Universal Studios that is named “Fast and Furious Supercharged”. Tara, Jeff, Charley, Cody, Cameron and Chase landed Tuesday and ran from there. From playing on the playground, in the pool, and then Universal Studios, it was a packed four days.  The KOA had a Jump Pad. The boys loved it and  were able to make new friends. A little sunny and sweaty. Papa and Charley playing basketball. Pool time! Hogwarts. We had a fun (sweaty) time at Universal. On Friday, the boys wanted to go swimming, but we could hear thunder in

Hope that you are having a restful Palm Sunday. Jesus made His triumph entry into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey. The crowds were placing their jackets and cutting down palm branches to celebrate Him. Not everyone was excited about this. "The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!"" "When He entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him while He was teaching, and said, "By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority?" Jesus said to them, "I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John was from what source, from heaven or from men?" And they began reasoning among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say to us, 'Then why did you not bel

The last week has been a full one. We went sightseeing in Savannah with Caroline and Art last Sunday. We did a hop-on hop-off trolley so we could see the sights but also learn about the history of Savannah. In the 1730's, England founded the last of its colonies in North America. The project was the brainchild of James Oglethorpe, a former army officer. After Oglethorpe left the army, he devoted himself to helping the poor and debt-ridden people of London, whom he suggested settling in America. His choice of Georgia, named for the new King, was also motivated by the idea of creating a defensive buffer for South Carolina, an important colony with many potential enemies close by. These enemies included the Spanish in Florida, the French in Louisiana and along the Mississippi River, and Indian allies throughout the region. In 1732, the King chose twenty trustees who received funds for overseeing the colony. They could make laws, issue land grants and elect governing bodies for the c
