Fun times in Idaho

Image
The past week went by in a flash. It was a great time and we so enjoyed ourselves. I do believe we played cards every day, except Saturday. That was moving day. What was cool is that I was able to watch Deputy Sheriffs train their new dog. I got a pretty good video of it, but I can't seem to load videos on here. Sorry, you will have to settle for a picture. I wouldn't want to be the one who had to be attacked by the dog. Wednesday, Mom, Hilda and I visited a Lavender farm. It was pretty cool and smelled wonderful. The young lady who was there was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. Hilda went home with two fresh cut bundles. One to dry and one to keep in a vase. Fun fact: I didn't realize there were four colors of lavender. I knew about purple only. There are also white, pink and blue colors of lavender.  Gift Shop This is used to distill the lavender for essential oils. Lavender drying. White and purple lavender.  French lavender. Well, since it w

Family Time in Idaho

Welcome back to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. We arrived last Sunday and will head out Saturday for Orofino, Idaho. We stayed at a different site this time and are enjoying our visit. Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park. We spent last Sunday night having dinner at my mom's along with my brother, Steven, and his family. The six of us had a great time playing cards and visiting together. We also had a tour of Steve and Hilda's newly built home. Last year, it wasn't finished. It is beautiful. Monday, we went over to mom's again for dinner and more cards. Tuesday, we had the privilege of seeing Steve and Hilda's boat.. Steve took us out on Lake Coeur d'Alene, and we also ventured down the Spokane River. Mom fixed dinner, so we ate on the boat. It was fun, but I wasn't too excited about going fast, my nephew, Hunter, on the other hand, loved it. Getting into the boat, we spotted a momma duck and her ducklings. Hunter riding the tube with a thumbs up, that means, go f

Back in Bozeman, Montana for the past week. It was a good week. Last time we were here we went to museums, we hiked, and tried new restaurants. Last week we ate out at the same places and went on a beautiful drive to Bridger Bowl. Harder to do a lot when you only stay one week. Although we are in the Mountain time zone, so hubby is off from work at 2:00pm. Our site for last week. Bozeman is a cute and charming city. I can see why so many people are moving here. It is also quite expensive to buy a home. Guess if you are coming from California, you would still be buying a home at a bargain. Holy Rosary Catholic Church downtown Bozeman.  Built in 1912, Gothic Revival architecture. I must say I had a fun time at the Farmer's Market on Tuesday. I love having fresh veggies and it was nice to walk around and just look at all the different items they had for sale. I know hubby is happy that we are living in the RV, I couldn’t buy any furniture of works of art, but it was nice looking at th

I can't believe this is my 100th-blog post. Thank you for joining us on our journey across America. We left North Dakota Saturday and headed to Montana. So, as you are reading this, we are currently in the Mountain Time Zone. I love when hubby works in Mountain Time, he gets off work at 2:00 and we have more time to explore. Before, I get into what is happening in Montana, I will finish with our second week in North Dakota. We had a really nice time at the Mandan Rodeo. It rained earlier that day but was nice weather while we were there. It was their 143rd Mandan Rodeo Days and the  last time it will be held at the Speedway. They are building their own arena for the next years to come. Believe it or not, but the rodeo was sold out.  We just got there early to get the "lay of the land". North Dakota has been named the happiest state. Key factors for this ranking, include income growth, open spaces, work-life balance and number of national parks. One thing we noticed when w
