Third Month in Texas

Image
We arrived in the great state of Texas on October 28, 2022, and yesterday marks our third month in Texas. The time has really flown by as we saw family and friends all along the way. We left South Texas on Saturday and now we are in Waco, Texas for two weeks. Last week flew by as we were able to visit friends and family.  Monday, we dropped back by Dad's (Juan) house and visited with him for a while. Hubby also worked on the truck, so that was good. After our visit we went to Mecca's to visit with  Hubby and Dad (he is 92 years young) Tuesday, we had dinner with Tommy and his wonderful wife, Dawn. We sat and talked for about two hours, so nice to catch up with them. Sorry, forgot to take a picture.   Wednesday, we went over to visit with Joyce, I have known her for over 35 years and hubby used to work for her after he graduated from college. It was a nice visit and time passed too quickly. After our visit we went out to dinner with Laurie and Louis Cannon. Laurie is Todd's

We arrived last Sunday, and it was one of the shortest trips we have taken over the past two years. It was a little less than an hour. It was great setting up and being done before 3:00pm, I didn't know what to do with myself.  Our site until January 28th. On our drive down, we went through the tiny town of Chapman Ranch. The population is 200 according to local officials in 2009. In January 1919, Philip Alexander Chapman purchased 34,631 acres of land from the division of the King Ranch with the intent to develop it into farmland. Soon after, he delegated primary operations of the land to his son, J.O. Chapman, who divided "Nueces Farms" into 160-acre tracts to lease to tenant farmers. In 1924, the historical name of Chapman Ranch was born. Chapman Ranch was recognized as the world's largest mechanized farm boasting 20,000 acres in cultivation. The Ranch was also known as a place of experimentation and innovation with both crops and machinery that later introduced tr

First off, I want to thank you for your prayers and support! I had my surgery last Wednesday and wasn't nervous. I told the Dr that I wasn't good with needles and God surprised me, He is good! "Then the Lord passed by in front of him (Moses) and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth;'" Exodus 34:6 (NASB). I didn't have to have an IV, just some crushed up pills under my tongue and nitrous oxide. The surgery went well, and the Dr was pleased. Fun fact: nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, nitrous, or nos, is a chemical compound, an oxide of nitrogen with the formula N 2 0. At room temperature it is a colorless non-flammable gas and has a slightly sweet scent and taste. I was able to place my Elpis in my Savior and that is a lessoned learned, perfect love casts out all fear and my God is love.  Corpus Christi General and Implant Dentistry office. Dr. J. After praying last week over my word for the year, the Lord gave me the word "Hope". I was watching a BibleProject video and that helped me come up with my word for 2023. The word hope has three names in the Bible. Two are in the Old Testament and are Hebrew words. The first is Yakhal which means "to wait for" just like Noah had to wait for the water to reseed after the flood. The second is Quvah which means "to wait". This word is like when cords are being pulled and stretched and tension is applied. Also, like a farmer who plants seeds and must wait for the crops to come in. In the New Testament the Greek word is Elpis, which is a person, Jesus, is that person. Jesus' resurrection brings us hope that we can be reborn to become new. The verse I am using this year is "Yet those who wait (Yakhal) for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will not run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.&

I can't believe this year is over! To me, it went by way to quickly!! I pray that you and yours will have a most excellent 2023. "The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy." Zephaniah 3:17. Praying that the Lord will reveal Himself to you this year in a powerful and mighty way. This past week was very busy, in a good way!! We started on Monday by having Christmas with the Goode's! It is always a GREAT time!! Fun, lots of laughs and amazing food! We are so blessed to have them in our lives. Over 30 years of blessings! Top row: Jim and hubby. Bottom row: Fonda, Grandma June and myself. Tuesday, we did Christmas with Paige and family. It was so cute when Caitlyn realized she had Christmas presents. She did a great job eating her dinner so she could open them. Of course, I forgot to take pictures. Wednesday, we went to lunch with my sister, Stefanie,
