It's the most wonderful time of the year
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were busy as I was trying to make sure everyone had gifts for Christmas and "keeping it real" I didn't cook much. Monday, Tim did come over for dinner. I made beef tips over noodles. The noodles were made in Amish country and it the meal turned out well. Tuesday, hubby smoked/grilled steak and shrimp. I had picked up potatoes (yum) and we had them along with asparagus. Wednesday, we went out to dinner with the Jernberg's and tried a new place in Katy. Had too, it is our last name. It was good and can't wait to go back.
After the zoo, we headed out to Willie's for dinner. Caitlyn was tired from all our walking but loved the zoo. That makes me happy. It was a good day.
Friday, we went grocery shopping and took almost all of it to Tim's. I feel bad about cramming his apartment, and on Christmas it will be even more cramped with all of us included. It will be good, and I appreciate him allowing all of us over to celebrate the birth of Christ. We also went out to lunch and the Tim went to buy a TV, his was old and it was time. We were able to put it in the back seat of our truck and then I needed to ride home with Tim. That was fun, it has been a while since just he and I were alone in a vehicle. We also checked into the hotel for Tara and family so that they could arrive at whatever time they were able to get here.
Today is Christmas Eve and we will be going to church, then the Pizza Shack and then coming back home to gather more items to take to Tim's. I will be making the breakfast casseroles and then see what else needs to be done for Christmas. "Christmas, my child, is love in action." Dale Evens. "For it is in giving that we receive." Francis of Assisi. I like both quotes and didn't want to choose just one.
May your family and friends have a most excellent Christmas and new year. It will be amazing to see what 2024 holds. I look forward seeing what God is going to do next. "Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14 (NASB). "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit." Matthew 1:18 (NASB). "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonder Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 (NASB).
