Bikes and the Beach

Image
We had some time to play after our crazy winter cold snap. It was wonderful to be able to ride our bikes on the beach. Tom and Tracy showed us the way. It was a little scary crossing FM (FM stands for Farm to Market) 3005, it is a busy road, but we did it. Then hubby gave me some instructions on how to make sure I survived riding on the beach.     Do you ever wonder if it is ok to have down time, to take time to enjoy what God has given us? I looked up verses on fun in the Bible and this is what I found. First, Solomon is contrasting evil people against God-fearing people. He is sharing with us in Ecclesiastes 8:12-15 that all will go well for God-fearing people, in the end; and since we have to toil on Earth, we should enjoy what God has given us. I found that very interesting in  Ecclesiastes 8:15 (NET)  “So I recommend the enjoyment of life, for there is nothing better on earth for a person to do except to eat, drink, and enjoy life. So joy will accompany him in his toil during the

An unusual week

Well, when Texas does something, Texas does it big! Monday, we lost power around  2 am and it didn't come back on for 75 hours. By Wednesday water pipes had broken around Galveston and other towns and the boil water order was set in place. Hubby, Tom and Tracy went propane hunting Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, praise God they found propane all those days. “God is good, a hiding place in tough times.” Nahum 1:7a   (Message) Hubby reminded me that He is in control and that we will get through all of this. It is good to be in community with others who believe, that way they can strengthen you when times are tough. I know that all of Texas, and other states, have been dealing with crazy weather and yet God is still in control and He knew this would happen. We just have to cling to Him and others as we walk through the storms of life. My word of the year is steadfast, and God has also had to remind me this past week that steadfast was my word for the year. Cling to Him, He has us i

Having fun along the way

It is important in life to have fun. 2020 was a crazy mess and 2021 has it's moments, but this month hubby and I are with friends in Galveston and we are having fun. Tom and Tracy are full time RVers and we are enjoying our time together. They have taught us new card games, we have shared meals together, and our dogs are becoming fast friends. Gus is 9 and Buster is 13 months, so let's just say, the old man has been tired. I am taking him to the vet in March and I sure hope that between the walks and play time Gus has lost some weight.    The photo is from the Kemah Boardwalk, this was a nice place to visit, walk around , eat and Tracy and I even did like a zip-line type of ride. We were strapped in, hoisted up in the air and then released to come back to the ground. It was fun and a little scary; but we survived.   So, the house has a contract on it and we close March 19, 2021. We will be staying a week in Tomball and then head out to Magnolia for the rest of March. April 2n

This is for real

When we moved onto the property, 13 years ago, I thought I would never leave.  I wanted to grow old there. Every time I drove into the driveway I felt at home, a peace washed over me. Sure, the house was smaller, but less to clean. Sure, the land was bigger, more to mow. Mowing was one of my favorite things to do. Just sit there with your thoughts, praying, singing, or solving the world’s problems. Hubby and I named the property, "LAST 3  Ranch", which stands for Lozano, Albert, Stacy, Tara, Tim and Tressa. Deer, horses and bunnies were born on the property. Family and friends came over and we had food, fun and festivities. Team building games were played there. We had karaoke nights, game nights, nights outside with bon fires and lots of laughing. All three of the kids lived there off and on, grandchildren as well. It was where Cody prayed to ask Jesus to be his Savior and where Tressa and Andrew were married. Hubby and I made a great life there, but God has called us to so
