What can I say about Oregon, it is lovely, and the weather has been amazing! We enjoying our friends (Tom and Tracy) and Gus is able to play with his friend, Buster. After they are done playing, well, let's just say Gus needs a break. Poor old man! Hubby and I explored many beautiful birds that live at the Cascades Raptor Center here in Eugene, Oregon. They take birds that need rehabilitation and help them live a good life. Some were injured by powerlines, or hit by a car, or were raised by families and those birds don't realize that they are birds, they are so comfortable with people. They also take the birds into schools and use them to teach students about safety, bird life and such. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment. Fun fact, the University of Oregon was where they filmed the movie “Animal House” and it is in Eugene. We drove by some of the nice houses by the University on our way to the Lane County Fair. Good food, fun things to look, fun times with Tom and Tra

Six Month Recap

Hope this blog finds you well. Thank you for your support and reading it, hope you are enjoying reading it as much as I enjoy writing.  So, two months have passed since my last recap, nothing has really happened these past two months in a crazy way with the RV, praise the Lord! Weather is what has been the craziest. When we arrived in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, it was cold, we even had hail, but before we left it was HOT! One day it even got up to 107, that was crazy, and it was 89 inside the RV.  We really ate our way through Coeur d'Alene with our wonderful "Road Food" book!   Thank you again, Fonda! When we first arrived in Oregon, it was nice, then we stayed at Coos Bay, and it was cold, rainy, foggy and the wind - yuck! Now, we are in Junction City, Oregon and I am loving the weather, not too much wind, highs in the 80's with vey low humidity. Very nice. The RV park is a very friendly one and we can sit out on either side of the RV, shade side or sun side when the

On the Road Again - Washington and a little taste of Oregon

God is definitely taking us on an amazing journey! I can't believe how beautiful the USA is! We stayed one night in WA and even tried Mexican food; it was ok. Needed more flavor, I would say, use cumin! The "hot" salsa was good, and I wanted to try their queso, but they didn't even have it on the menu, strange. Next, we headed to Oregon. It was a beautiful drive, and we were actually in Oregon, but could see Washington. The river that separates the states is called the Columbia.  For its first approximately 150 miles in the United States, the  Columbia  forms the reservoir behind Grand Coulee Dam. The river then bends west, south and east through central Washington, turns south and then west, and forms the border between Oregon and Washington to the Pacific Ocean.   We were also able to see Mount Saint Helen on this drive. We weren't sure if there was a cloud covering it, snow still on top or someone mentioned that it was volcano ash. What do you see? Making our w

Idaho - part 4

Happy 4th of July! I hope this day will remind you of the amazing America we live in. What we have been through, how hard our forefathers fought for freedom and that God is in control! So, last blog I told you about the sight-seeing we were going to do, Idaho thought it would be better to have a historic heat wave, so we went to my mom's and played cards, ate dinner, talked and laughed throughout last week. We have been playing Negative 5, a game that Tom and Tracy taught us. Then we changed it up and played 5 Crowns, a game that Fonda taught me. So much fun, I had to go and buy it on Amazon.  My mom just ordered the card game as well! We also had a project for my mom (like always), she sewed some sunscreens for us so we (meaning hubby) could put them up to help keep the RV cooler. They sure came in handy with this crazy weather. I am so grateful for her many talents, one of them being sewing! Thanks Mom! You ROCK! Hubby also wanted a cover for his ladder so that when it was agains
