San Diego Part 3

"I remember it like it was yesterday. Of course, I don't really remember yesterday that well." (Dory - Ellen DeGeneres - Finding Dory ). It has been hard of keeping track on where we are and what we have done. We have a digital frame where we can upload pictures and video to it, well, I started being more descriptive on there, the places we have seen and where we have been, because it is harder to remember what day it is, let alone what city we have traveled to. Life on the road has its advantages as well as its disadvantages. Thank goodness I take daily vitamins in a weekly container so I can remember what day of the week it is.  Last weekend hubby had "Guy's Weekend", I stayed home at night because of the dog, but Gus had a play date last Saturday, so I was able to stay with hubby. It was nice to have a little freedom from taking care of a dog. Not sure if I will get another one after Gus has gone to doggie heaven.  Gus spent the night at Ernie and Del

"You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." A.A. Mine (Author/Poet). Just wanted to start you off today with a little inspiration. I think during these times positive thoughts should be on our minds. Another beautiful week in San Diego! Hubby and I had a great time and the weather cooled off, that was a nice relief. Before I tell you about our week, I need to share why San Diego is so special.  In 1981, I met my hubby. He, Thor and Todd took a road trip from Texas to California. Thor used to live down the street from me in California and to be totally honest with you, he was my 8th and some of 9th grade boyfriend. He had a picture of me that hubby saw and so my man wanted to meet me. So, he came to my house in the summer of 1981. After that, he would write me letters via snail mail, he was good at that, me not so much. Then in 1982, I went to college in the San Diego area. Thor's dad (he was in the Navy) was transferred to San

Yesterday, September 11, 2021, marked twenty years since America was attacked. It was a shocking and horrible day. I still remember where I was when the first tower went down, and I saw the second tower crumble. Time stood still, life changed as we knew it, and friends and family were lost. If you haven't been to the monument in New York, you should go. It is quiet, peaceful and sullen. A friend from high school died at the Pentagon that day. He was an amazing man, husband, father and military hero. Otis will always be remembered, and my hometown has seen to that very thing. I pray that you and your family are happy, healthy and huddled together during the times we are living in now. May God place His hands upon you in a mighty way as we navigate what America looks like twenty years later. "There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven - A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance. A time to tear apart

So Cal - week 2

First, I want to say Happy Anniversary to my most amazing hubby! We celebrated 34 years on September 2, 2021. I can't imagine my life without him. Also, we are blessed to have 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 wonderful sons-in-law. I truly am a blessed woman, thank You, Lord, for all that You have given me. We ate at a wonderful place - Chase's (which is also the name of our youngest grandson). 34 years! I wanted to show you a few pictures of The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens. It was fun, and we enjoyed seeing the gardens. It was hot though and wanted to find shade or go into a museum when we could. Fun fact: The Huntington is situated on 207 acres in San Marino, California. There are 130 acres that are maintained as botanical gardens for public enjoyment.  Chinese Garden Japanese Garden Rose Garden Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
