North Bend, Ohio
Tomorrow is Labor Day, a day where we celebrate the many contributions workers have made to America's strength, prosperity, and well-being. May you enjoy tomorrow and reflect to an America where life was free of masks, mandates and mayhem. May you feel the Lord's peace that passes all understanding falling upon you this week.
May our flag wave freely.
We had a nice past week in North Bend, Ohio. The weather was hot when we first arrived, then cooled down and then went back up to being hot. Not as bad as some of our family and friends are having in Texas. North Bend was founded in 1789. It was a platted as Symmes City but ultimately never took that name. Instead, it was incorporated as the village of North Bend in 1845. It is named for its location, where the Ohio River meanders to the north.
Our site for eleven days.
We actually walked every day. Here is the lake at the RV park.
The RV park is named Indian Springs.
Saturday, after we arrived, we went to Indiana for dinner. It was a nice restaurant and was located by a beautiful lake and a dam. Fun fact: the dam was built in 1973, the height is 140 ft, the length is 1195 ft, width at the base is 732, the water surface area is 150 miles, and the max water depth is 120 ft.
Walking up to the restaurant and our first look at the water.
Opposite side of the water.
“Never give up; for even rivers someday wash dams away.” Arthur Golden
Do you see the ducks?
Sunday, we headed to Cincinnati to shop for a few clothes for an upcoming wedding. We had lunch and then headed out to Mt. Airy Forest. It is a nice place to hike and just look at God's beauty.
It has a fun tree house.
Hubby at the entrance to the little tree house.
Mt. Airy was established in 1911 with an initial purchase of 168 acres.
Fun times hiking.
Although reforestation efforts began immediately, the construction of
roads, trails, buildings and walls began during the Depression.
Monday was our usual grocery shopping day. Hubby and I plan our meals out for the week and if we will have any out to eat nights. Since we are in the Eastern Time Zone, hubby is off from work at 4:00pm, this makes it a little rushed if I want to be done eating by 7:00pm. So, on that night we have been buying a rotisserie chicken and we have that and a salad. The entire chicken is not eaten, so I will make something with the leftovers either later on that week or freeze it until a time it is needed. Friday, I made chicken enchiladas with the leftover chicken.
Yummy.
Tuesday, we had a nice visit with a high school friend of mine, that has also become hubby's friend. He full time RV's and we have met up with him and his wife on a few of our adventures, Tom and Tracy. It is with a deep and sadden heart that last April, Tracy passed away. It was so good to see Tom, be able to talk with him and I hope we were an encouragement to him. We will meet up again next April for the solar eclipse in Waco.
Unfortunately, we didn't take a picture with the three of us, but Tom took
one as he made it to St. Louis, MO on Wednesday. He was also able to watch
the Cardinals play the Padres. He said that he has never been to that stadium,
so we were excited for him.
After dinner on the drive back to the rig, we saw a beautiful moon. Love God's creation.
This picture doesn't do it justice.
Wednesday as gorgeous and the temperature was only in the low 70's. We were able to walk and get our steps in easily. It takes about an hour to walk 7500 steps, sometimes we don't do it all at the same time but break it up. The goal is to have them all in by the end of the day.
Thursday, hubby went back to the dam to fly his drone. He said it was a little windy up in the air but was able to get some footage for me to add to the blog.

Were you surprised?
Friday, I made the chicken enchiladas and we had left over beans from Thursday night. While hubby was working and I was making the enchiladas, an ambulance and sheriff came to the park. I have noticed when I have gone into the office to pick up an Amazon package, that there is a group of older men and women who have lunch together. It is my intuition that one of those precious people went to the hospital. We are praying for them and their family.
Hubby saw them take a stretcher into the office.
Saturday was an amazing day as it was our 36th wedding anniversary. We went out to brunch, played a little bit at the Hard Rock casino and walked away ahead with over $190.00, then we went to dinner in Indiana. It was a little warmer day, but it was fantastic. I truly can't believe how quickly time flies and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else, especially on our new journey of full-time RVing. Hubby makes me laugh and we have an amazing time together. Living in 450 sq ft doesn't stop our fun. Here are some pictures of us through the years.

I skipped from 2019 until current date because most of those pictures are already posted on previous blogs.
"Keeping it real" I don't watch too much news, it stresses me out, I feel like America is changing and I don't know how to make it stop. I know that I am not in control, God is, but I truly would like to be a light for Him. So, for as of now, this is what I will do, “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8 (NASB).
My friend, Caroline, took her granddaughter, Charlotte, to the Jersey Shore and I just had to add this picture. She is such a doll!
