Sugar Hill Resort week 2

Image
What can I say about this past week? Well, it felt like it was dragging on, but then it was Friday and hubby was able to be done with work for the week. It was nice to have him off from work and we took that opportunity to find another "Road Food" restaurant. Welcome to Bartley's BBQ in Grapevine, Texas. In 1967, when Marvin Bartley, an employee at Burrus Supermarket, convinced Mr. Burrus to build a building on their parking lot on Main Street. Bartley's BBQ opened in 1968. Bartley's remained on Main Street until 1995, when the City of Grapevine purchased the property for the new city hall. They then moved to their current location a block east of Main Street. Hubby and I enjoyed the food, the prices where amazing and we would go back, given the opportunity. Out for dinner! The weather here has been a little colder than I was expecting. So not much outside time for me. I don't mind it being cold, but this wind just isn't my thing. Must keep the hair look

Sugar Hill RV Resort

Welcome to winter! It has been a little chilly in Anna, Texas. Last Friday the low was 14 degrees, brrrrr! The RV is doing a great job with keeping us and the pipes warm. Praise God for that!  We only receive mail once a month, it was so nice to be able to open Christmas cards last Thursday. Thank you all so much for your love and support. Hubby asked me if it was sad to open them after Christmas, but really it brought joy to my heart to hear how you and your loved ones are doing. May 2022 bring us love, peace, patience and joy. We have enjoyed being with friends. Hubby went to Bud's and stayed for a long weekend. Thor came out to visit as well. I truly enjoyed being with Bud's wife, Ellen. It is fun to catch up and it is nice to be with others and not feel uncomfortable, all of us talking and laughing. I couldn’t stay overnight because of my fur baby, but still had a truly amazing time. A walk around the lake with Hubby, me, Ellen, Bud and Thor. I was able to take a few photos

Goodbye Houston

Sometimes it is easy to say goodbye to a place we stayed, much harder to say goodbye this time. We had fun visiting with friends and family, but it just wasn't enough time. We sure had a great time with the everyone we saw; it was fun to share stories and I enjoy sharing photos of our adventures.  Last Saturday, we were able to go out and see Ashley and Colton. They lived with us for about a year. She is one of Tressa's best friends and she became a daughter to us as well as Colton being like a grandchild. He is growing up way too fast, as are our other grandchildren (which we will see in March). Ashley, Colton, Hubby, Tressa, Tim's nose and me. We also were able to spend another night with Jim and Fonda. That was good, but hard to say goodbye. Hoping we can meet up with them while on the road in 2022. That would be a lot of fun. They are more than friends, they are family. Our children have grown up together, we do Christmas together, hubby and I just enjoy being with them

Friends and Family

It has been so amazing to see so many of our friends and get together with family. We have had a full week and this week will be our last, so trying to cram as much time with others as possible. Barbara Bush said, "Live your life with love as your guiding principle - keep your family and close friends close." My prayer is that you and I will be able to do this in 2022.  Sisters - Stefanie and I were able to meet up for lunch. Hubby and I were also able to meet up with friends of mine from high school. We saw them when we were in California, they lived there at the time now they are Texans! We will also meet up with them this week, they will come and see the rig and we will have more time to visit. Hopefully the weather will be amazing, and we can sit outside and have a fire. James promises that he makes great frijoles, so we will be putting him to the test! James, Robyn, me and hubby. Saturday, we met up with Ashley and her boys. Christmas time, again. Ashley and Colton used

Happy New Year!!

As I am writing this, I am sitting outside with hubby, enjoying the current weather. Come late Saturday early Sunday we will be in the 30's. It is in the 70's now. Texas has bi-polar weather. Happy New Year! My prayer is that 2022 will be a much calmer year. May the Lord shine His face upon us in 2022 and may we be the light of Jesus that others need. So, hubby, Tim and I just so happened to get covid. It wasn't a bad case, praise the Lord, but still had to change up Christmas and that was a bummer. Although, we had two Christmases, so that worked out well. Since Tim had covid (we probably gave it to him), we all met on Christmas Day at his place. After we were better, we met at his place with Tressa and Andrew. We had fun and played some games. Tim's gift to me was a "Baby Yoda" card game. We played that on Christmas Day and then last Wednesday we played a new game that Tim gave to Tressa and Andrew, as well as another game. Fun time was had by all. (I forgo
